Treasurer’s Report
Checking account balance is $2570.38.
Savings account balance is unchanged at $697.20
We had been quoted a price for our deposit slips which turned out to be incorrect. We were sent an invoice for the remaining balance due plus a late fee. Anita Metz has paid the balance due and gotten the supplier to waive the late fees because we paid the price they quoted us and the tardiness was due to their error, not ours.
The profit on the spaghetti dinner was $650.00
We received a check for $100 from the Elks club (Bingo)
We paid the Calhoun Gilmer Career Center $131.48 for supplies for the uniform closet plus a $150.00 donation.
We reimbursed Leslie Ward $241.70 for the spaghetti dinner purchases.
We received a $100 contribution from Joe Minard related to our spaghetti dinner fund raiser.
Fund Raisers
Folk Festival - Leslie Ward spoke several times with the food vendor coordinator. Amy Shreves located a snow cone machine we could use but there is already someone selling snow cones. The folk festival agreed to let us sign up late and suggested corn on the cob or baked potatoes but we don't have the manpower to man a booth for all the shifts needed. Plus all who prep or sell the food must have a food handler's card.
Prime Time Advertising - we selected sports bottles. Registered letter to be signed and returned to Prime Time.
Old Business
The plaque has been delivered to Liberty High School
Thank you cards have been sent to the Elks Club, Joe Minard, and Glenville Elementary.
Thank you card to
McDonald's has been purchased and is being signed.
New Business
We decided not to do an awards banquet but to give out awards to the seniors on May 18th and to the rest of the band on June 7th, the last day of school. Anita Metz to help on the 18th and Leslie Ward to help on the 7th. The office is paying for the awards.
We will have a meeting on June 5th.
We decided to do a 50/50 drawing at the Spring Concert rather than a donation box.
We are not tax exempt. Anita is getting us a tax number.
Capes & sashes - Mr. Lopez will find some that he likes and forward to the boosters via email for their input.
Ideas for new fundraisers: dessert silent auction at concerts; rock-athon or music-athon.
It was suggested we have a recruiting drive for marching band, with a sign up sheet.
It was suggested we have a "fun" activity for the marching band this summer; perhaps a pool party. Details to be discussed at future meetings.
Announcements
Graduation will be May 26th; the band will play.
Meeting was
adjourned at 5:15 p.m. with a motion by Jeremy Rodriguez, seconded by
Carolyn Greenlief, and carried.
Respectfully Submitted
Leslie
Ward
