Mr. Lopez mentioned Mrs. Pounds (McDonald's) may be reimubursing the band $200 for shirts. Committee Reports Pizza Hut fund raiser. Jeremy Rodriguez reported we will receive $131 from Pizza Hut in about two weeks. We also received a donation for $25. We agreed to have another Pizza Hut fund raiser in November if possible. Jeremy Rodriguez is going to check on this and work with Mr. Lopez regarding scheduling. Mr. Lopez will get students to hand out flyers at Pizza hut the day of the fund raiser. It was suggested we redesign the flyer so that two fit per page and box-top them for about two weeks prior to the fund raiser. New Instrument Purchase Mr. Lopez has received the new instruments with a few still to come in. Sam can get reeds at bulk rate; he will give Mr. Lopez a magazine with a source for bulk supplies Color Guard Uniforms Cancelled due to delay in delivery. Tess's Mom submitted information for color guard uniforms for next year. Auditions will be in early Spring and new uniforms will be ordered as soon as auditions are complete. Unfinished Business Fund raisers. It was suggested we do a band performance with spaghetti dinner at Coffee and Friends in December. This will be discussed further at the December booster meeting. $500 Gear-Up grant from Fairmont State College is available to be used for 8th grade and up. Letterhead. Letterhead will include the school Titan logo from the bass drums, phone number, website. Mr. Lopez has already designed it. Evelyn was asked if we could use her computer to print letterheads if they can't be printed at the high school; she said yes. She will work with Mr. Lopez on this. Admission to sporting events. This has been approved by the Athletic Director in exchange for band performances at some home basketball games. Mr. Lopez will give her the names of students participating in Winter Band and they will be allowed free admission to home games during second semester. Upcoming performances. Performance was held this morning at the Veterans Assembly. The band was requested to play the Star Spangled Banner twice. The Christmas Concert will be the week of December 11-15; hopefully on Tuesday the 12th. There will be a daytime performance and an evening show. New Business The band needs a cooler; this would save money buying bottled water at the football games. It would also be useful at band camp. Anita donated a water cooler and carrier rack. Carolyn mentioned a community Yard Sale. Leslie will tlak to Donna Waddell at Family Resource Network (FRN) in Glenville. Mr. Rodriguez suggested a new fundraiser. A jar is set out for each teacher and money is put in the jar. The jar with the most votes wins and has to kiss a pig or something similar. Band camp. Mr. Lopez is hoping for an overnight band camp this year. YMCA's Camp Horseshoe in Tucker County can provide 4 days/3nights lodging and meals for ~$100 per student. If we cannot afford overnight camp, day camp could be held at the Rec Center. Carolyn made a motion that the meeting adjourn; Evelyn seconded. Motion carried and meeting adjourned at 6:25. Respectfully Submitted Anita Metz
